Services
executor
As the executor of your estate, I serve as an objective administrator to efficiently and responsibly execute the settlement of your estate. This includes marshaling and securing assets, paying expenses, maintaining any and all investment accounts and ultimately making distributions to any heirs and other beneficiaries. My role as executor also includes filing appropriate tax and court filings with the court as required and bound by the state.
Daily Bill Pay & Money Management
A Professional Fiduciary can provide support for many of the daily tasks associated with managing a household. I can assist with setting up a system for efficient bill pay, providing support in money management, and providing referrals to my team of trusted advisors to navigate more complex financial management.
Trustee
As a trustee, I navigate the management of an existing trust; in essence, I control the assets of the trust. I can be named as trustee, either when the original trustee passes, or should the original trustee or the named trustee decide they no longer wish to hold that responsibility. If you leave a will with your fiduciary also named as executor, my scope of responsibility will also extend to paying debts, filing tax returns, and transferring any property not held in the trust.
There are three main types of trusts:
Simple Living Trust
Bypass Living Trust
Child’s Trust
There are additional tools used when making gifts to charity through the use of a trust: The Charitable Remainder Trust.
Healthcare Representative
I often serve as a trusted and compassionate advocate in healthcare issues. My role is set out and governed by the Durable Power of Healthcare, a legal document providing me with the authority to act on your behalf in evaluation and decisions around healthcare.
Powers of Attorney & Medical Directives
Durable Power of Attorney for Finances provides authority to manage your assets if someday you cannot. Having this document at the ready can be a great help if you become seriously ill and inable to take care of day-to-day financial affairs. Powers of attorney do not extend to the period after a person passes.
Advance Medical Directive (Living Will) provides instruction to your physicians about your wishes for end-of-life care. Having this document in place provides a road map for those in charge of your care, including your fiduciary.
Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare provides authority to make your medical decisions if someday you cannot. This is a powerful advocacy tool in any medical situation.
Guardian
If a decedent left children under the age of 18, and there is no surviving parent able to raise them, a will may name a guardian at the parent’s request. If a parent has not specified in their will, a fiduciary may be named by the court to act as personal guardian and/or property guardian for the property the minor children may inherit.
